I was always a very curious kid . A very reserved person, always preferred staying away from the crowd. I used to be enthusiastic about electronics and the technology around them. I still remember, when I was in the 8th Grade, I wanted to be an engineer dealing with Artificial Intelligence. Even my parents wanted me to be an engineer but, unfortunately or rather fortunately, my interests got diversified by end of 10th grade and I entered the world of music. It has been an amazing journey since then.
I started composing and even made songs for an album during this learning period. In the first year of my higher secondary studies, an album of mine was released. It was quite inspiring for me and greatly boosted my self-confidence. I started playing the background musics for some local stage shows and also got involved into background score of noted plays for youth festivals. It went on but eventually I lost my academic career and shifted to Bangalore to get a diploma in multimedia.
My attire from a village boy changed in the 3 years I spent in Bangalore. I got enough time and space to work on music and learn about computer based music production. My second venture 'Mantra' was done in Bangalore, from scratch to the finalization except for the recording sessions which were done in Chennai, Cochin and Payyannur. The album released in 2003 all over and gave me a bunch of emails and letters with appreciations and wishes. Actually, I started considering myself as a composer after this. Initially, I was very uncomfortable and scared to sit on the composer's chair in the studio cabin.
In 2005, I went back to Kerala after studies and started working as a freelancer. I was part of tv commercials like the Arabian Jewellery, KM Tex, a documentary funded by Kerala Government and also worked for a malayalam muslim devo album titled 'Laila Laila' and malayalam musical 'Aarodum Mindathe' where I debuted as a singer, too. The recording of the album 'Aarodum Mindathe' started in September 2005.
In 2005 November I fled to Dubai to look for opportunities in multimedia. My parents wanted me to have a typical 9-6 job, which would be financially safe and secure but leaving behind all my dreams of being someone 'big' in the music industry. The recording of Aarodum Mindathe was left half way. I was helpless. I joined a company in Dubai Media City in 2005 December and started working as an IT Manager - Web Division and later got promoted as Interactive Media Manager.
Later, after 15 months, I finally came up to a conclusion that I need to quit the job and try something of my own. So in March 2007, I quit the job and joined in with a cousin to commence a business. I left Dubai in 2009 July and now based in Bangalore looking after my business and working on music part time. Career and dream parallel :)
